Boosting bilingual education: celebrating the English Week at El Valle Nursery School
At El Valle Nursery school, we are aware of the importance of teaching, even our youngest children, about different cultures. Educating children about different cultures and traditions provides them with a way to understand the world around them and it enables them to appreciate and respect other people`s way of life.
During the month of April, at El Valle Nursery school, we celebrate English week. Our aim during this week is to motivate, inspire and provide students with a fun way to understand the different customs and traditions. This year our English week will be based on one of the famous stories from Arabian Nights, the story of Aladdin and the magic lamp.
Children learn through active involvement so this will be a fun packed week with a purposefully planned mix of activities which include indoor and outdoor fun. During this week at El Valle Nusery school our children will do different activities like creating their own masks, decorating a biscuit, dancing to a song, playing fun games as well as participating in this well-loved story. Our students will be encouraged to use and be exposed to the richness of the English language.
How you can help as a family? Well, children learn most effectively when parents show an interest in what they are doing. Find time to talk to your child about what he or she has done in the day. It is very important to praise the efforts your child makes when they speak English to raise their self-esteem and to show that you value their effort.
From El Valle Nursery school, we look forward to sharing this special week with your children.
