Easy Christmas crafts to do with children
Handicrafts are part daily routine at El Valle Nursery School, Alicante. First of all, because they are a fun way of creating a special bond between children and teachers. And secondly, because of the many benefits they bring to children, such as enhanced motor activities, greater creative thinking, increased self-esteem and learning to work as a team, among others.
Within the EduKiddos program, which is part of the educational project in our Nursery School, we have parents’ workshops which are devoted to handicrafts. Therefore, what better date than Christmas to test our creativity?
Even so, if you can’t wait until the next parents’ workshop arrives, we at the El Valle Nursery School, Alicante have prepared some easy Christmas crafts to do with children at home.
Fun Christmas trees for children of one year
The idea is to create beautiful cone-shaped Christmas trees to decorate the house.
Materials:
- Paper cupcake doilies
- Green paint
- Paintbrush
- White glue
- Coloured pompons
Instructions:
Using the green paint, paint the cupcake doilies. When they are dry, make the doilies into cones. Then, stick the coloured pompoms onto the cones using the white glue. A great idea is to use them.
